The exterior is wonderful Elizabethan architecture & well restored. The interior is also well restored and interesting though somewhat small , with original fireplaces & beams etc. What I couldn't escape was the surrounding area. It's surrounded by a big council estate literally 20 paces from the front door. The area would of been wonderful but it's been ruined & this house only reminds one how ugly housing looks like .

On a beautiful day, we visited the house and were given a guided tour by a very knowledgeable member of staff/volunteer. The highlight of the day, was the food. My partner has Coeliacs disease, so can only eat gluten free. The Chef ensures that there is plenty of suitable food for her, and he does cater for all other of the varied dietary requirements. For such a relatively small concern it really punches its weight, putting many larger places to shame!

Beautiful Tudor Manor House in well kept gardens. Check for opening times as closed half the week but well worth a visit. Small temporary exhibitions very interesting and guided tours are available. Lift to upper floors and a very nice small cafe. Events held here throughout the year too which are worth a visit. Been here many times and always a pleasure.

Wonderful manor house 10 minutes walk from Upney underground station on the district line.
Enjoyed David's enjoyable and fascinating guided tour of about 1 1/2 hours. So much history to absorb and fantastic original architecture to view.
Great little cafe serving freshly made food, cakes and light lunches.

Our friends had their wedding here & it was a beautiful day. We were on the ground floor with access to the gardens & we had a fantastic time. The staff were amazing, so helpful & friendly. The day was amazing, what a lovely place to have your wedding in.
