Room smelt of blocked drains - perhaps it had not been aired between uses.

Coffee machine in breakfast room was broken.

Did not appear to be any butter to spread on toast or croissants.

If there is free wifi on buses, why not in the hotel ?

The room does not have a good shower or toilet, they are pods in the room placed side by side made out of plastic. The room did not have any tea making facilities and had one small soap. The window did not close properlly, so there was traffic and noise from outside all night. I asked the staff for a spoon and they refused to give one. Overall I would rather pay £10 more to say in a normal ibis which is better and has a more comfortable bed.

Hotel was clean but beds were very uncomfortable. They consisted of a 3 inch thick mattress on a wood slab...zero comfort. Price was right but if it's impossible to sleep it's not a value.
Would not recommend!

Room Tip: Don't use this hotel if you want a good nights sleep.

OK for one night. Overall it is OK. Facilities are just basic. Counter staff is extremly busy and has little time for guests.

The hotel has definitely been refurbished and the rooms are really interesting to say the least. They are a means to an end, and are pretty good for the price. There is no frills to this at all, and when you're out all day shopping, and want a central bed for the night (not in a hostel), this is pretty decent!

I have one hugely massive complaint though: The staff.

I travelled with my elderly parents, who deserve more respect than to be shouted at and ignored when asking the lady behind the front desk some basic questions such as "Is there wifi?" and "Can you tell me if you know where I can find this/how to get here".

The lady was VERY RUDE, very short, and not helpful at all. She was short with us, ignored us for 5 minutes until she was done on the phone (personal call), then wasn't friendly and had a very rude tone. English isn't her first language but taking that into account her tone was STILL rude.

Later on, we went down to ask about ordering a taxi. My father asked her if they can arrange a taxi service and how long it would take. She said "10 to 15 minutes whenever you call" as walking away from him. He did not quite hear her and asked her to repeat what she said. She shouted (or said in a much raised tone, over-pronouncing every word) "TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES". After this, I thought I'd take over and said:
"Okay, so if I want a taxi at 9.15am tomorrow, can it be here tomorrow?".

She immediately (and very aggressively might I add), picked up the phone, pressed # and handed me the phone and said, "Organise it with them yourself". And walked away from the desk!

I was absolutely DISGUSTED with her tone to my elderly parents and her short-temper and aggression. Just to say - there was NO ONE in the lobby, there were no other guests on the ground floor (in the main area), and she wasn't doing anything that would make her busy.

Overall, we had 3 run-ins with her and each time, she got worse. I'm a professional, and my father is a retired professional. Asking something twice, or being treated like Crap is not what I expected and I am so disgusted.

Finally - there was one guy, Haresh/Harish who spoke to my father very nicely and explained things to him - he was the cleaning guy/janitor/plumber.

Overall: The hotel is grand! Rooms are what you get for a price and they are spotless. Very impressed with that. Location is great. Get the number 5 bus around the corner - really handy to get into town, instead of walking 10 minutes to barking underground.

The ladys name was Zuzana.

Room Tip: Get a family room! totally worth it, even if you're a couple
