We were absolutely delighted with the hotel and our stay. The room and facilities were wonderful and the food delicious. We had a corner suite on the top floor with fabulous views and windows which you could open. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which was great and I loved the Molton Brown shower gels and soaps. There was a coffee machine to make espresso coffees (that was a total wow factor for me!) and a decent kettle too.The room was heated just right and we kept the windows open as the night was warm. You can hear owls hooting and we woke to the sight of low lying mist over the park. It was magical. The staff were excellent, very professional and at the same time personable and good humoured. They all made our stay great fun and we would definitely return as soon as we can!

The staff were the stand-out value of our stay. All were smiling, helpful and intelligent. At meal times staff were just a bit over-attentive, tending to interrupt with pouring drinks and asking how we were rather unnecessarily. The hotel is a splendid and fascinating building and the guests lounges were a lovely place to read and relax. Our room (16) was a quirky and interesting corner room although we had a water boiler somewhere closeby which was very audible! The grounds were great, even in the rain, although maintenance of paths and plants could have been much better. Meals in the restaurant were OK value but the focus seemed to be on meat. I'm no vegetarian but I do enjoy vegetables and salads and there were very few compared to the meat and carbohydrate. Pudding options were poor - far too much white chocolate and unpleasant-sounding combinations. In general the menus seemed to have been written piece-meal (as lots of random dishes that happened to be served on the same day rather than as dishes that complemented each other as meals). The pool and jacuzzi are fine but in such a plain room that it's boring, to be honest. Maybe a mural would brighten it up a bit. Steam rooms and saunas are in changing rooms so are single sex - a bit lonely for those visiting with spouses! Overall we were left wondering whether it was worth spending so much on (and we got a 2 nights for the price of 1 deal) but it was a lovely weekend away so we're glad we did it.

We stayed there for my girlfriends Birthday for the weekend and had a great stay.

The place is huge but in good condition but has the feeling of a country manor. The rooms were nothing amazing but were well kept with a good bathroom. The gym and spa facilties are also very nice and a great place to work out and then relax.

The highlight for me was definitely the evenings, the pre dinner Gin & Tonic and Cocktails in the bar and the food and service at the restaurant was fantastic was fantastic.

We would and plan to stay there again.

Beautiful hotel, peaceful surroundings. Very good food and service. The rooms were lovely the whole building full of character. The staff were exceptional and could not do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable. Wonderful grounds with deer roaming freely. Spa facilities very good. Don't hesitate with this one you will not be disappointed.

Ashdown Park Hotel was everything that we were hoping for. Fantastic room to hideaway in. Good food, excellent spa facilities and attentive staff who made us feel very special. We could not recommend the hotel highly enough and look forward to exploring the other hotels in the group.

Room Tip: We stayed in a refurbished room, which had been done to a high standard (as they say on homes under the hammer). Don't know what the older rooms are like but would recommend you ask for one that's been renovated.
