We have been here twice for lunch, the menu doesn't really change from one week to the next but the food is lovely, the desserts are some of the best desserts I have eaten. The main courses are good although my husband had the scampi and that wasn't very big. The previous time we had the duck and the chicken and they were generous portions. All in all a lovely restaurant with lovely staff.

Went for a birthday celebration lunch. The food was lovely, the decor was a bit dated but cosy. The service was very good. Had a lovely time and am looking forward to going back.

My first impression of walking into this restaurant was of stepping back in time, with a very pre-war ambience of red chairs and inglenook fireplaces. The staff were all very polite in a way that has gone out of style in modern eateries - attentive and discreet, very efficient without making any show of this. The menu is old-fashioned in a way that is comfortable and pleasing. Old familiar favourites make a pleasant change to fads and trends that are all too often style over substance. All three of us had different food and were really surprised at just how well each thing was cooked, done in a smart but unpretentious way and elegantly served by the waiters.
Very reasonably priced, there were some children present in the restaurant, but this is a markedly adult environment. I will definitely go back soon, as this is local and would seem to always be carrying a selection of dishes that do not stray too far from 1950s smart food. This is meant to be a compliment as the cooking was superb.

This was my third visit here, each time was a family event. This visit was a 90th birthday celebration for my aunt. It was a cold day and we received a very warm welcome from a) the receptionist and b) the fabulous log fire burning in the lounge. Orders for drinks were taken and delivered swiftly and as some of our party were late there was no pressure to take our seats. As we were quite a large party we had the conservatory to ourselves which was great as we had four very young children in the group who became restless and we were able to allow them to get down from the table from time to time. Our food was beautifully served and as usual very tasty. My honey glazed duck was super. We had an unhurried and very enjoyable family get together. I can't comment on the cost as the bill was settled by my generous brother!

Moved to sedlescombe 11 years ago , and before our house was ready came here for sandwiches. At lunchtime -they were the very nicest with lovely fresh bread and fillings.
Subsequently living just a short distance away when we get the urge we go to the friendly Brickwall
With it's excellent staff , Aldo , Julio , the ever present (when not taking advantage of a special deal in exotic lands) owner Pepe, the dining room is beamed and the tables are well spaced ,
For the the mains the duck -often -with a variety of sauces , the best vegetables -really -
Or maybe veal viennoise , a steak , or steak and kidney pie, you get the picture it's food people actually like to eat, not forgetting rye bay sole , .
We began having our staff Xmas dinner here a few years ago and after various disastrous or inept meals at other local restaurants -they couldn't cope with large numbers -everyone wouldn't dream of going elsewhere , service even when it's full is on the ball and always friendly.
The food arrives piping hot and we all have a good time .
So a hymn of praise you might say, it's reasonably priced so it's usually busy year round
Bang in the middle of the pretty Sedlescombe village and it's green.
