We have stayed for breaks here for a few years as Pevensey is a great location. We stayed for two nights,20th & 21st april 2012.On friday night they had local band jamming there, they were brilliant ! They should do this every week.Warm welcome on arrival."Proper" on suite, not cupboard or separate room.Great entertainment on saturday in Beach Tavern opposite.Meal deal was amazing & lovely.Room was fine, bathroom clean.Beach one minute away.We stay for a short break & thoroughly enjoy ourselves .

We met family who were staying at the hotel for a well deserved Easter break and thought their complaints were over exaggerated, until we were invited to see for ourselves! If the Bay Hotel was a submarine we would gladly give the order "dive, dive, dive" but leave all the hatches open! Everything we witnessed in this establishment was grubby, tired and reflected the indifference of the present management team, who we believe were "pair 24" in the last two and a half years. The chain who own this hotel should seriously think of closing it down for a season and invest in a complete refurb. We recommend you stay at nearby Napier House where you are certain to have a perfect holiday and receive a warm, homely welcome.

We stayed last week in this dump and I can't believe I made it through the night... Ugh!
The carpet is disgusting, the wall and the bathroom need much more cleaning. You could find dust and mould in many places...

Rooms are tiny plus very bad distributed. It's freezing in them! The bathroom is as cold as the north pole!
Don't go there unless they improve quality. Don't waste your money!!

Ok breakfast, that's the only positive thing I can say I am afraid.

We havent stayed at the bay hotel but only have ever eaten there so cant possibly comment on the hotel room comments however if you fancy a really welcoming experience friendly service with good quality home cooked meals then both my partner I and our friends who have eaten there would recommend the Bay hotel, examples of there menu that we personally have eaten lasagna with garlic bread or chips, veg curry and popadoms £8.25 in total, 2 rib eye steaks with chips mushrooms and tomato £11.95. basically buy one main meal and get the 2nd meal for free you cant even buy 2 rubbish mcdonnalds meals for that! so give it a go i very much doubt youl be disappointed Brian & Christine from Bexhill on sea, East Sussex

I have been there twice. Once, with my wife, when the new management had just taken over, and last weekend (about a month later) with friends. We found it very welcoming, with good pub food. The managers have done a lot of work improving the place. Both times we had a pleasant stay, and will definitely be going back.
