Great pub food, friendly atmosphere. A quick stroll from Pelham Hall where I was staying. Lovely home made venison pie, sausage and mash to die for.

We only spent an evening and enjoyed an excellent meal but we could nevertheless breath the atmosphere. The owners were nice and friendly and so were their regular customers, the food was very good as was the service. Who ever says that English people are cold has never been in this pub! We had a great evening.

We recently stayed at Burwash for 2 weeks and spent a few evenings in the Rose And Crown with our 2 Westies and were made very welcome by the Landlord and Landlady, staff and local regulars alike. Although we did not eat in the restaurant (dogs are not allowed in here) it is well laid out and was quite busy.
We had our meals in the bar and there was plenty to choose from on the menu and that applied to starters, main course and desserts. All were very reasonably priced and every meal we had was very well presented and very tasty. A good variety of beers were also on offer including some very nice real ales.
Generally the pub is very pleasant, clean and welcoming with a great beer garden to one side with numerous tables complete with sun umbrellas if required. There are also rooms available, however, we had already booked a nearby cottage prior to visiting.
I would definitely recommend this pub for good food, good beer and a warm welcome

We recently went to the Rose & Crown for Sunday lunch to meet up with some friends we hadn't seen for ages. We were warmly greeted by Dave & Kay, the landlord and landlady who went out of their way to make our visit a very pleasant one. I have to say we had a lovely lunch, the food very good, although one of our group said he could have done with a few more potatoes! Dessert was divine, finished off nicely with coffee. We spent the best part of 4 hours there as the ambiance was really nice and the service was great. Well worth a visit, looking forward to doing it again soon.
