The Cooden Beach Hotel

Despite being in a nice beachside location the hotel was old, dirty and very expensive compared to what you get elsewhere. The rooms were dirty especially the bathroom with mould and scum clearly visible on the 1950's fixtures. We hear they are in the process of doing the place up - they have a long way to go !

Sayed here for one night only of 2 that we booked. Disgraceful, dirty and generally makes you feel depressed. Room had cobwebs, paint work peeling and wallpaer hanging off the walls. The bathroom had mould around the bath and shower screen. The bed matress was shot and we never slept at all. The dining room was dirty, dusty, and the tables were bare of all varnish. Chairs were thread bare. The worst place I have ever set foot in. My husbands description was the best. A place you come to die in!

This hotel could be A+++ but it has fallen foul of years of under-investment. If you like bathrooms with back mould around the baths, kicked in bath panels and wallpaper hanging from the ceiling, this is the place for you; if you don't mind dirty floors, hairs in the bathtub and bathmats covered in orange slime, make a reservation; or if you want to be privvy to your neighbours EVERY movement, get down to Cooden Beach.

The staff on recpetion are helpful but it is way too expensive for such shoddy accommodation.

It's SUCH a shame! It's in a fantastic spot with great views and terrific grounds, but it is in dire need of a massive makeover.
