Review of Bexhill Beach

Bexhill Beach
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Yes Bexhill beach is stony when the tide is in, but it has a great promenade so you Don't need to walk on the stones. When the tide is out there are rock pools and Sandy beaches. The really good thing about Bexhill beach is that only the residents of Bexhill know about it and visit it so it is a lovely place to go to. The views are splendid, spanning from Eastbourne to the west and HAstings to the east. The automated lighthouse can also be seen on the horizon on a clear day. Shush! Don't tell anyone about this place or they'll all come here.

I'm a Bexhillian and live here. I'd rather have sand and the sea is too cold for me but not much can be done about that! Sadly the pitch & putt was taken away when the seafront was renovated so there really is nothing to do except shop and eat & drink

Whenever I visit it is usually at weekend & am working. The beech always has looked clean & tidy. One time I visited the people of Bexhill were actually picking up the litter, plastic etc that had been recently washed up by the sea. If you like sea fishing it appears a good place to do so if you know the times of the tides? The West Parade makes a very pleasant walk along but can be very windy at times.

Coming from a country with GOLDEN sandy beaches it's hard to get used to the
Sort of beach in Bexhill (on Sea)
Although we do go to South Cliff if it's sunny and warm enough I never can be persuaded to go into the sea due to the £&)6,;;( pebbles.
The GOOD thing dough about the Bexhill beach is that it's normally quiet and quite clean.
Still I DO long for SANDY beaches.

Bexhill has a lovely very clean promenade and is great for a stroll. The beach is very pebbly but great fun for collecting shells and stones. If you want to swim it can be very windswept and you only have to go a couple of paces and you are waist deep. Good facilities at the De la Warr Pavilion though with a reasonable cafe.
