We visit Bexhill on a regular basis when visiting my parents and The Old Manse is always out first choice. We enjoy staying at The Old Manse as we are really well looked after by Debbie and Eric.
There is a wide variety of choice for breakfast, starting with fresh fruit, followed by a cooked breakfast, not forgetting Eric's delicious home-made bread all to keep you going for the day. The bedrooms are both very nice - we are quite happy with either room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are both spotlessly clean. Look forward to returning and seeing you all soon.

Just returned from another visit The Old Manse in Bexhill and it is still simply the best B&B we have stayed in.... In fact it's miles better than the majority of top hotels with that added personal greeting - and tea and cake!

Debbie & Eric are the perfect hosts! The accommodation is still in pristine condition and the spacious luxurious surroundings always leave us feeling refreshed and restored :-)

The breakfast is stunning - all local and mainly organic ingredients set you up for the day perfectly.

Attention to detail is key here and everything base is covered - plenty of parking, large bathrooms, top range bath products even a DVD collection in case you just want the evening in.

For business users it would be the perfect place to relax after those business meetings - and probably a lot cheaper than most hotels so even keeping you manager happy into the bargain....

If you're in the area, treat yourself to some real luxury.....

We arrived shortly after 8pm after a family party and were made very welcome with a lovely pot of tea and homemade cake and biscuits-delicious. The room was very large and very tastefully decorated and had a comfortable sofa and decent sized TV. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in for a long while. The bathroom was just as big as the bedroom and was beautifully equipped. Breakfast was superb with poached plums, homemade whiskey marmalade made by Eric and a lovely cooked breakfast. Debbie and Eric were wonderful hosts and we plan a return visit later in the year as they are close to a station for easy exploring.

Room Tip: There are two rooms, both very large and well equipped

We booked at short notice on the morning of our visit and Debbie and Eric were even kind enough to agree to provide the evening meal of our choice for us with less than 12 hours' notice.

We were lucky enough to be able to stay in the Egerton Suite with its massive en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath and separate shower. Both rooms are lovely though so either would be a good choice.

I would thoroughly recommend booking to have the evening meal freshly prepared by Debbie and Eric and served around 7.00 pm in their dining room with snowy white table cloth, napkins and candles. We had the Rye Bay skate with saute potatoes and fresh vegetables followed by lemon posset with caramelised almonds and shortbread biscuits and then coffee and petit fours.

Our brief visit concluded with a delicious Sussex breakfast in the morning and particular mention must be made of Debbie's home made marmalade with whisky or ginger!

We will be going back for another visit as soon as possible!

Thank you again Debbie and Eric.

I was placed in the Old Manse by my company and had to stay there for two weeks. Now i am used to the anonimity of staying in big chain hotels and was a little worried about staying in a small establishment which obviousley doubled as a family home. would they be ok with me? would i like them? would the food be ok? i can tell you now that all worries and concerns were totally unwarrented and un needed!!! i found both Eric and Dabbie to be a warm and welcoming couple who who share a real and genuine passion for good food and great hospitality!!! they never badgered me or made me feel out of place in their wonderfull home. Whilst they have a small menu ( due to the nature of their usual customers only staying for a few days) they went out of there way to ensure my diet was varied, the food was excellent both in terms of presentation and quality, and what is more home cooked (not a jar of ragu in sight) they were both great conversationalists and really just wonderful people. the rooms were comfortable and of a generous size without being too ostentatious with tea and coffee facilities on tap and of course i could also supply my own alcohol :) However there were two things which really made my stay outstanding first was their helpfullness when i needed to locate some spare parts for my motorcycle and secondly (and perhaps more profound was working in my room on an evening and listening to the sound of music filling the house ( i dont mean stereo here i mean real life piano, guitar, violins and more) itt gave real sense of peace, warmth and belonging that gave me a real pang to leave. (and eric the red pepper and tomato soup went down a storm at home) I would also like to add that although i stayed there for business reasons i will be taking the wife back to meet Eric and Debbie and spend some time with them during the summer. It is a very strange feeling to go to a place as a paying guest yet to come away feeling that you have stayed with friends. Now that to me is truly priceless!!!!

Room Tip: just go there the room you stay is truly not important the whole place is magical

This was our second visit to The Old Manse but this time we stayed two nights. Superb, comfortable room with enormous en-suite bathroom. I am sure it would give any 5 star hotel a run for their money!
With a glorious fruit or cooked breakfast to choose from with excellent coffee served in individual cafetieres .
Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, with offers of help whenever required. All in all a really great experience,
