“A blast from the past”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

With hobbit style doors and open fires, the pilgrims rest has its original features from the 14th century. We appreciated the untouched architecture and was made to feel very welcome. Thanks ladies

Stopped in for lunch. The welcome, service, food were all first class and friendly. Real home cooked, hearty portions, well worth a visit.

“Fantastic experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

Visited with my seventeen year old daughter for breakfast, food and service was upstanding we went back for lunch, where for us it was spoilt by so many young families with very noisy children, such an elegant place with great staff, maybe a separate room for families as trying to enjoy the place with screaming babies and bored toddlers ruined our lunch!

“Lovely cafe with an icecream parlour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

At a tourist destination but not at all a tourist trap - lovely home cooked food at reasonable prices in a cosy atmosphere. Log fire kept us warm while children loved the icecream parlour - also very reasonably priced. Glad we found this little gem

“What a delight, how all tea rooms should be.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Rainy day in Battle needed refreshment and re group. As we left the Abbey you have many tea rooms to choose from but what make this tea room stand out is the beautiful cottage garden.
On entering met by happy staff and a roaring fire which was very welcome.
Being a Vegie can be limiting let alone one with an in tolerance of Garlic and Onion so opted for the Rarebit, with in moments a pretty smiling Chef appeared to offer to adapt from the menu a meal i could eat.Let me tell you this does not hapen to me unless im at a fancy restaurant even my local tells me "if its not on the till we can not serve it".So how refreshing!!!!, we had 3 meals in all and 5 milkshakes and to be honest was so cosy did not want to leave.
Many thanks and i wish your team all the very best.
