Owner description: Stand at the centre of where England's future was fought. Imagine and discover the stories unfold, brought to life in the exhibition and in audio as you follow the footsteps of the Norman & Saxon soldiers. Watch the compelling film about the Norman invasion, then plan your own attack on the country's most famous battlefield. See the new wood carved sculpture trail around the battlefield, experience the stunning 360 views from the new rooftop viewing platforms, and take your time to explore the monastic ruins. For kids we now also have a new kids natural play area, and a fun kids trail. Make sure you experience the atmosphere for yourself.

History comes alive, well worth the visit, see the movie then visit the 'set'. At least it has not been given the 'Disney' treatment!

My husband and I booked a ghost tour, the tour was amazing thanks to our wonderful guide Jo the property manager, she is obviously passionate about the site and had an extremely good knowledge of the site and its history, the tour was informative and not rushed, we were treated very well and even given a cup of tea! We will definitely be spreading the word amongst our friends that Battle Abbey is a great place to visit, we are also going to sign up as members of English Heritage with the hope that trips to their other sites are just as good.

If you are a history buff and know about the battle you will like this site. For those of us who know about the battle but aren't that interested in particulars it is just a nice walk. Movie only fair. Great gift shop. The men in our group rated this a 3, the ladies a 1 1/2. Paid parking. Town pleasant.

We visited a few days ago in half term. An actor told stories of ghosts and the Battle of Hastings story. Intertwined wonderfully. Unfortunately we couldn't walk around the battlefield due to being waterlogged but able to explore the Abbey ruins. There is a museum on site retelling the battle story and about the abbey (sited near the gate house). My kids 9 and 7 yrs thoroughly enjoyed the whole visit.
