We were lucky enough to get a cancellation for New Year's Eve, and what a treat. We arrived in the rain and dark to be greet with the news that we'd been upgraded to a fabulous suite with a vast sitting room. The staff were charming and the meal was delicious. A ceilidh band were good fun and we saw midnight in with a very jolly company. Next morning we woke to find the two huge picture windows gave right on to the lake, complete with ducks. Delightful, and a lovely breakfast too. Thank you!

Room Tip: Ask for the Lake Suite!

We booked for the 2 night stay including meals and New Years Eve party. We had A fantastic time, the staff were friendly and created a lovely atmosphere for the guests to enjoy a party in the evening. The days were warming and calm, sitting around the huge open fire in the dining room with afternoon tea, reading the paper was a delight. We had a relatively small room but it was beautifully furnished and clean. The food exceeded all our expectations, expertly cooked and well presented with a menu to suit most tastes. The only problem was the lack of mobile phone signal and the complimentary WiFi was patchy at best, although some may think this a blessing! All in all a lovely hotel stay, would definitely return.

Having previously stayed at The Powdermills we returned with eager anticipation and were not disappointed!
We were welcomed with the usual politeness and made our way to our lovely room which was at the back of the hotel overlooking the lake.
The hotel is full of quirky charm with the subtle aroma from the log fire at the entrance.
Our 3 course evening meal was mouthwateringly wonderful with all 3 courses a delight.
Overall a very good stay at a hotel which we will return to.

Having booked this after a wonderful evening earlier in the year we were not disappointed. We booked a midweek Party Night for our employees as a thank you for their hard work during the year. The food was excellent as was the alacrity of the staff for any request. We danced until
midnight and we all had a thoroughly good time. I also stayed overnight and the room was excellent as was my salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Have already booked for next year.

We've stayed at this hotel and dined in their restaurant on many occasions and our most recent visit was up to the excellent standard we've come to expect. The food and service was superb and the grand setting makes The Powdermills Hotel a perfect place for any occasion.

When my wife suggested a voucher-inspired stop-over here, I was happy without evidence or expectations. Having now stayed one night and dined and breakfasted, I can only thank both my wife and the hotel for an excellent experience. It looks lovely, nestling in typical Sussex countryside. It smells lovely (you have to pass a smoking log fire in the lobby). Staff are very friendly and professional - though you may have to wait while they find you in the rather maze-like layout. Dinner was an absolute treat and accompanied by wines priced in some instances at unfashionably attractive prices. The dining room was looking lovely, festive but tasteful. Breakfast was all you could ask for. So all in all, at the voucher discount rate, an absolute bargain.

Room Tip: Our room (I cannot speak for others) had rather thin walls; and reading in bed was not easy. [The la...

wonderful smiling helpful staff, log fires and old british charm with an acceptable bit of faded country house weathering.
