We visited this B&B for Bonfire Night in Battle, hoping for little more than a bit of privacy and somewhere central to stay for the bonfire festivities.
We came out of our night having found probably our favourite B&B thus far. Everything was top to bottom lovely. We were greeted warmly and shown around without a sense of rush or obligation. The suite was great - cozy but loads of space, a very comfortable bed, and loads of little extras -- excellent books to read, DVDs, a stocked cupboard we were told to help ourselves to, fresh baked bread in the breadbox, really nice lotions and bath oils. Totally delightful.
We came back from the cold of the evening into the coziest room, scrumpled up some oat biscuits and goat cheese from the cupboard and watched a DVD. And a surprise -- we couldn't eat the bread she had left due to an allergy we'd forgot to send notice of, and when we came back we had a treat of gluten-free cakes the host had sourced from a local baker!! Completely above and beyond the call of duty.
Breakfast was the best I've had in any B&B - a great selection of cheeses, biscuits, fresh fruit, greek yogurt, juices, coffee, tea - loads and local and lovely.
Thanks so much for such a great weekend.
