I have just stayed for two nights at The Bell in Walberswick and it has been a wonderful experience from start to finish. The pub itself has lots of small intimate side rooms and a well thought of over 16's only section. The staff are very friendly and you feel that what ever you asked of them they would oblige. The room, number 1, had a view of the rear gardens and the sea and was very comfortable.

The food is very good and the mushroom starter was especially delicious! The breakfast was a relaxed meal taken in a light and airy room, the food very fresh and very tasty. There is nothing negative one could say about the Bell except that you do have to leave it to go home.

Have been visiting for years with two young children for lunch and evening meals whilst on Easter holidays - great family welcome pub with character and great food and children's menu - huge garden with lots of benches in the summer is a bonus with beach and crab catching bridge within walking distance. Really well organised for busy days and children (and relaxed mum and dad) really enjoy the food and location.

Just stayed overnight at the lovely Bell in Walberswick. Fantastic food, local ales, friendly staff made for an excellent evening in front of the fire in the bar, all followed by great night's sleep in a clean and airy room with a very comfortable bed! Morning breakfast was delicious and set us up nicely for gently ambling around Southwold. Fabulous!!!

Room Tip: The twin room was very comfortable, the room and en-suite bathroom were light and clean and there wa...

We spent 2 nights here and were delighted by the fact that the original features of the Inn have been preserved. A delicious meal served by a roaring fire is difficult to beat and the staff were great too. Good wine and beer selection added to our evenings there. Our room was very comfortable with a great shower and, with its' nautical theme, had all that we required. Real flowers a nice touch.

Even though we had a dog the room was fantastic. The hotel was lovely, clean and everyone was very friendly. As it snowed we ate in the restaurant both nights and was never disappointed.

Lovely warming and welcoming fire, superb service and a nice selection of beers and wines

Next time we go we will eat in their sister restaurant across the estuary.

Would definitely go there again

Have today returned home having thoroughly enjoyed 3 nights (for the price of 2 midweek deal) at the Bell Inn.
In a nutshell.Fantastic stay all round... As other reviewers remarked, Nick and ALL staff incredibly cheerful, helpful and friendly. Lovely room. Great, comfy sleep every night. Important touches of quality soaps, shampoos etc fresh coffee (cafetiere) twinings teas fresh milk, biscuits etc Varied restaurant and bar menu and delicious food. the BEST breakfast ever had at any hotel/b&b - all local produce. Parking (parked up for all 3 days and walked everywhere and relaxed/dined in the bar every evening). An absolute gem. And we did access wifi?! Highly recommended.

We've just returned from a lovely weekend break at the Bell Inn. We've been there umpteen times before but never to stay. Food and wine was great, as always. Breakfast was lovely - fresh fruit with yoghurt, excellent kippers and a full English with fried bread!! (not all at the same time)YUM! The log fire in the grate was welcoming and cosy. All the staff were chatty, helpful and attentive. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, but we had to tuck the curtains behind the radiator to keep the room warm.

My absolute, one and only complaint was the shower cubicle - it was so tight that, with every turn or movement, I banged an elbow or knee. But, hey, that's so minor it's hardly worth mentioning.

We love Walberswick and Southwold too. And now we know we can get a room AND bring the dog we'll be back again.
I hope it's soon.
Special thanks to Charlie, Becky, James and Tom for their warm welcome and friendliness.

PS Southwold is more than a FEW minutes walk away! More like 40 minutes without the ferry (a rowing boat). But it's a lovely, not too strenuous, scenic walk.

PPS No wifi there yet. But that's probably a good thing. After all you go to places like this to get away from everything.

Room Tip: Room 1 is at the back overlooking the garden, though not the beer garden, so should be quiet most ti...
