Rooms was good, staff were very obliging , food amazing...only thing I struggled with was no air conditioning in room or restaurant ..would defiantly return...but not in peak summer time....hotel was situated in a reasonable good place....15 minute walk away from pier and 15 minutes walk to main shops...

Room Tip: We had double room on top floor...room 11 ...suited us because we had 2 windows we could open....was...

When you first see The Blyth Hotel it may seem like a station hotel from another century when Southwold had a train service - until you go through the front door or sit down to eat. Our room was well appointed - and more importantly the bed was comfortable. The food was well prepared, tasty and well presented, and the staff were friendly and helpful. What's more the hotel is a few minutes walk from the centre of Southwold where there are some very much more expensive restaurants but we chose to eat at The Blyth. If you want to explore Suffolk and South Norfolk, Southwold is a good base and The Blyth is a good place to stay.
Also Southwold has an excellent Brewery & Distillery, Adnams, Their beer is available at the hotel

Room Tip: Our room was at the top of the hotel and very quiet but the hotel is in a quiet, secure area anyway...

Stayed for two nights in April. Very disappointed with the room especially the bathroom really cramped(the loo was impossible knees up against the wall)
Carpet in the room was iffy and had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival as there was a pill packet and pill on the floor where it remained for the duration of our stay
I appreciate that it is difficult to keep windows clean when there are so many seagulls around but the very large amount of poo on the windows was really off putting. Mattress on the bed was also impossible to get comfortable on
On the whole very poor value.

Room Tip: Try elsewhere! This was apparently a superior double!

A really relaxing break, lovely atmosphere, fantastic service and food, the most amazing home cooked chips!! The room was clean and spacious (we were in the Southwold Suite) tho only niggle was that the bathroom window was broken and therefore didn't shut. However when we mentioned it the owner said he would get straight on it.

It it a lovely Hotel, we stayed in the standard room on the first night, which was very cramped, but moved to the deluxe room for the last two nights which was superb.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. 5 mins walk into town

Room Tip: Deluxe only way to go

Enjoyed our second stay at the Blyth, Nice room with everything you need and clean. Well located for the town and beach with good amenities, nice residents lounge and comfortable bar with good choice of beers..Interesting menu, well cooked and good service. All staff were very friendly and polite.Definitely worth a visit if going to Southwold.

Room Tip: I have dodgy knees and worth asking for a first floor room.

We stayed recently at the Blyth for a christening in Southwold. Location is excellent, staff are fantastic, especially Sharon who was marvellous the whole time we were there, and the food was really good too. Everything was clean but the hotel could do with a bit of a facelift. Having said that it didn't take away from a great weekend.
