We arrived and spotted this quaint looking tea room with attached boating lake. It was not that busy so being in need of sustenance thought it looked perfect..... Over £12 for a can of pop, toasted sandwich and cream tea seemed steep but we were hungry. The tea was very weak (cheap tea bags no doubt) the scone was freshly made but spoilt by the over whipped cream (with added thunder flies yuck) and the poor quality strawberry jam (take the hint - clotted cream, homemade strawberry jam and good tea). The toasted sandwich (lack of filling and thin extra value supermarket bread) was very disappointing. No one came to ask if everything was ok for us. Definitely not value for money nor what we have come to expect from southwold the home of great local produce. Overall a tourist trap rather than tourist dream. Much better eateries to be found

My partner and I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The tea room was busy but still managed to find a seat, a lovely half a circle table over looking the boating lake. The service was brilliant from the gentleman taking orders & the girls bringing the food over. Loved the playing card idea instead being given a table number. Service was very quick & food was amazing. Would be helpful to have a few more menus on show- check out the specials board inside & the cakes! Who cares about the mix & match china- it's what makes this place different & unique!!
Will be seeing you again :)

A very quaint tea room. Like stepping back in time, lovely china crockery, excellent choices on the menu, many homemade, staff were excellent & very knowledgeable. Relaxing atmosphere.

We visited Southwold pier and decided to have a drink at the tea room. The hot chocolates were only half full, there was a lot of froth on them. The prices were quite expensive.
