Owner description: If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

We arrived at the cafe very late, wet, tired and thirsty. The staff let us have a coffee - although they were about to close.

The gift shops, restaurants, and amusements are always a hit and made our short stay, despite the thick fog.

You will have to visit to see what I mean. A bracing walk when the weather is brisk but enjoy a Leisurely saunter if the weather is good

It was a warm and sunny October's day and we walked along the prom passing the brightly coloured beach huts on the way to the pier. This is a proper old seaside town pier which has been restored and now has a selection of cafes and gift shops as well as other attractions (small theatre?) and an old-fashioned amusement arcade. We had a coffee - sitting outside and watching the world go back and the sea coming and going! At the end of the pier you can see if anyone has caught any fish. You can also sit and watch the time go by as the water clock activates every half-hour - very interesting. Well worth the walk form the town centre and lovely to see it still open and prospering.
