“hungry horse going downhill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2013

Sharing previous reviewers comments this place is not what it used to be.Mature friendly staff have been replaced by inexperienced kids.the excellent menu has been replaced by inferior menu.On the big plate specials the food is spaced out to look as though the plate is full, not fooling anyone. Ive been know to queue in this place waiting for a table because the food was so good. Not anymore loads of free tables regular customers just not returning .What a shame.Wont be returning.

“Sunday Roast with chewy Yorkshires!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

We had lamb shank roast on Sunday at this Hungry Horse in Mildenhall. In fairness the meat was nicely cooked but meat alone does not a Sunday roast make - if you don't mind chewy Yorkshire puds and tasteless veges - the carrots especially - then eat here! Hungry Horse used to be a reasonably good meal for a good/bordering on cheap price - but I would rather spend a bit more and have something edible!

Praise should go to the staff at this Hungry Horse, as on a very busy Sunday lunch their service was quick, polite and with a smile (which is rare these days!). So full marks to the staff - its the food that lets you down!

Hi, thanks for your comments I have had a chat to the chef on a better way with the veg, the Yorkshire puddings are home made so give us another try.

If you do I would love to hear from you

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

We discovered this pub when staying at Travelodge, Barton Mills. (less than a mile away). We had evening meals there on three nights and I can say that the food was always good. Curry night was especially good and very tasty. Also try the sharing candy ice-cream dessert. Prices are reasonable and quality and quantity are not compromised in my opinion. The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. It is a comfortable and relaxing pub. I do agree with earlier reviews however, that there is a rather unpleasant smell when going to the toilets and I think that the management should be addressing this urgently.

“Distinctly average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

Service was dreadful, waited 35 minutes for food to arrive without so much as an apology. We waited so long we decided not to have desserts.
Unfortunately the food was barely average, the steak and ale pie was a generous serving but the meat was chewy and tough.
The hungry horse menu has increased with a lot of new options but don't think I'll be returning to this particular branch.

“What a shame”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We use to eat in here regularly, but since its change of management 18 months ago its gone from bad to worse. The toilets look and smell like they have not been cleaned in the last 18 months, the quality and quantity of food is very poor. Mixed grill use to fill the plate now its spaced out strategically. The staff are young.minimum waged and very inexperienced. Bring your meal then 5 minutes later cutlery and sauces for your then cold sloop. Very disappointed . Wont be returning.
