My family and I walked into the empty pub/restaurant to be meet by a very grumpy old man, who clearly didn't want to be there. We ordered our drinks and food and my dad asked if we could sit any where in the restaurant area. The bar man said in a very surly voice we could sit up in the restaurant area but he would have to move some tables because most of the tables were reserved for the carvery which starts at 8:00 (at this time it was 6:30). We sat down in the pub area waiting for our food. The young man and lady who brought our food were polite. At the same time another customer placed an order, unfortunately when it arrived it was wrong. The customer queried this and she was meet with the same surly attitude as we had received. The customer had no sooner sat back down when an even grumpier old women come out and started arguing, in a very loud voice that the error was that of the customer. This was a very uncomfortable situation for everybody concerned but obviously the two grumpy old people didn't care about customer service or satisfaction. Also the food wasn't that good either. If you order just chips then don't expect to get a knife and fork. My sister was lucky to even get a fork. We won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone and they certainly won't be getting an award for friendly service any time soon. Its hardly surprising that pubs/restaurants like this are closing down when customer are met with such shabby, arrogant and quite frankly disgusting service.
