When we arrived at the hotel a smell assailed our nostrils as soon as we set foot in Reception. Think of the smell of stale cooking plus dirty towels and you will know what I mean. When we saw the state of our second floor bedroom we very nearly walked out and got a train home. The carpets were so dirty, we dare not walk about in bare feet. We even kept a pair of sandals handy to slip on, in case we had to pay a call in the night. The bath was dirty and the tiles around the shower were covered in black mould. Every time I had a shower I found myself hoping that I wouldn't contract a virulent form of Legionaire's Disease!
We decided that as we had paid hard earned money for the holiday we would stick it out and stay there for the week. We spent the least amount of time possible in the hotel as the level of cleanliness of the room reflected the cleanliness in the Lounges and the bars.
The food offered wasn't bad in a "frozen potatoes " sort of way but when you think " dirty hotel" you don't really enjoy eating there! The tour companies who use this hotel aught to be ashamed of themselves. There must be many complaints ???
