It was Captain Lunch in the conservatory with the Great Food, Good ale, pleasant barman & table service efficient and helpful. Twice Baked Souffle & Rabbit Terrine were really scrummy, the Fish & Chips were lovely and the Crispy Duck leg was the best we've had in Suffolk and how can sticky toffee pudding be anything but 'brill'?
I asked the barman if they had Mussels, Mussels says he? we don't do Mussels, haven't had Mussels in the 7 months I've been here. Funny says I, they are on your website - yes I know it's only a sample menu - and they are still up there today - shrug of the shoulders!!
BUT sadly we do have a gripe!! We know that pubs have a very hard, if not impossible, time to make any money out of drink but a £6 bottle of wine sold at £18 plus is really taking the "you know what" shame!!
Fresh Norfolk mussels steamed in Aspalls cyder, onions, bacon and cream served with parsley fried bread. Starter £6.50 Main course £13.00
