Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Wymondham Abbey is located in the market town of Wymondham and is the town's parish church. As well as being an active church with services every day, the Abbey is also a hub for the community for events such as family activities and concerts. In November 2015 the Abbey Experience opens with improved facilities including accessible toilets, enhanced visitor experience including the display of original artefacts and manuscripts and hands on activities for adults and children to engage in the heritage of this special place. There is lots to see at the Abbey and our Stewards are always on hand to answer questions. The Abbey also has a shop which sells souvenirs, locally made gifts and produce, seasonal products and spiritual books. There are regular events at the Abbey so do visit the Abbey website for further details and to check opening hours.

Fabulous interior and 2 towers! Near to beautiful Tiffey River Valley and Mid Norfolk Railway.
The website refuses to accept the above so I write this useless sentence.

Lucky to live local to this amazing building...so much history! In the summer it gets involved with a history day with the local school (open to the public in the evening)...archery, birds of prey, hog roast etc

“Sence Of Occasion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

One of the many wonderful churches in Norfolk (they have more medieval
churches than any other county in Gt.Britain) The feel of the past and the
river nearby makes one wonder how the area looked and how the people
lived when the church was built.

A lovely quiet and contemplative place to spend time. It is lovely to be able to light a candle and think of loved ones in a special place like this.

“Great for exploring”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

There is parking close by, which is handy if you have little ones. It is a great place for exploring. It is wonderful inside the Abbey and there is usually a volunteer on hand to guide you.
