A clean friendly modern style pub restaurant. Outdoor seating ( through the bar not beside the pub ). We turned up on our way through just needing a beer and something to eat. We were a little late for Sunday lunch but we were offered several choices and had the hog roast with very fresh local grown new potatoes. Not much by the way of veg on the menu so they made us a carrot and onion salad. Beers were mix of well known largers and local bitters. Sunday night was billed as girls night, £ 2 - which I thought was cheap for a girl - but it seems it was the price of a pint of Fosters served to women. From the outside on the road you could easily drive by and think it was a dreary truckers pub ( there is a lorry park very close ) but it was a very pleasant surprise and reasonable value for us townies.
