We booked last minute for a cosy night away at the coast and this place did not disappoint..

Great Pub restaurant with a warm welcome open fires and 1st class good value for money food. Dogs welcome and no rushing done here.

We took the most superior suite at the Stiffkey and it did not disappoint (plus we got a discounted rate as one night only last minute), lounge and separate bedroom, tv in the bathroom mirror, jacuzzi bath and separate shower.

Breakfast with no fuss or rush and again good service....

We enquired about going out on one of the local boats which they booked in for us.

The grounds and pub garden area were all nicely kept. The Red Lion is in a really quite area but nowhere is too far a drive away....

Room Tip: If you can stretch to a suite its worth the money....

We stayed here with our 3 year old and our 1 year old for a long weekend in early March. We had the attic suite, which is directly above the pub bar/restaurant. We picked this room for its proximity to the restaurant so that we could eat in the evening whilst our children slept upstairs. Staff were very helpful in giving us a good table where we could set up our baby monitor and we enjoyed two evenings in the pub - quite a novelty as we've never been able to do this before. Two huge rooms, lovely bathroom. You can hear muffled noise from the pub below but this didn't bother us at all, actually found it quite comforting. The food is excellent so is the ale and it's all great value. The breakfast is huge and freshly cooked with local produce - we didn't manage lunch on the Saturday, we were still so full! Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Stiffkey is well located - only 10 minutes to Wells-Next-On-Sea and Holkam - perfect for exploring the Norfolk coast. The pub has a lovely atmosphere - very informal and everyone chats to one another so it's very social. This is the first time we've been somewhere and not felt like the website has slightly upsold it; in fact the website doesn't do The Red Lion justice. Would highly recommend it - a great family break - we are looking forward to heading back in the Summer.

Room Tip: Pick the attic suite (two rooms) if you have children and like a bit more space and want to set up y...

staff are great, good relaxed atmosphere, eaten in the pub every night we stayed, the food is so good and fresh.can recommend the lion burger (much better than some PUB steaks)the room no 4 is ideal clean the bath sparkles after the girls have cleaned it.the breakfast is freshly cooked for you not cooked and kept warm as some other hotel/ B&Bs. AS MOST READERS WILL SEE GREAT REVIEWS I CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE NEGATIVE ONES I cannot rate the place highly enough great blend of old world pub and modern sleeping block.we will be back again with friends next time .

Ate here 30 th December for Sunday lunch which was of poor quality . Had already booked a meal for new years eve as rented a cottage nearby. Pub had a great atmosphere but the food was poor. Tasteless and bland . I did have high expectations as people had said how good it was .

Stayed for a long weekend eating here every night. The rooms are comfortable, clean and modern. Food is excellent, mussels to die for, pleasantly and promptly served by the staff. Good choice of real ales and wines, the place has a very traditional old fashioned pub feel to it, no teenagers constantly fiddling with mobile phones. Great location for N.Norfolk walks being minutes from the coastal path and walks along the salt marsh. Other centres can be easily reached by car. On the expensive side for B & B at £119 but well worth it in terms of overall value.

Excellent weekend, accomadation really good and warm, food excellent and service very friendly. Would recommend this pub to anybody and especially if you have a dog this is a real gem because the dog can go in any room of the pub and the underfloor heating in the rooms is brilliant for them didn't get a peep out of my dog all night. The walks from the door are really lovely, you walk across the road and along the path till you come to a road that goes down to the saltmarshes. This is an excellent winter pub with lovely fires alight in all the rooms in the pub, cosy and warm with great service, great food and good value.
Can't speak highly enough about this pub, have used it many times over the years and have never been dissappointed.Thank you to all the staff at the Red Lion for making our wekend so special

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent, but No 12 is worthy of being a honeymoon suite, just remember dogs not allo...

We stopped one night at the Stiffkey Red Lion. We were more than happy. The service was fantastic. All the staff are extremely professional, friendly and have the ability to make guests feel very relaxed, and at home.
Check in was quick and easy. Our room was ready for us.
We were extremely happy with the room. We had a ground floor room which had it's own enclosed garden with chairs/table. The room was immaculately clean, lots of storage, a good TV, lots of fluffy white towels. The room was warm, and quiet. The bed had a memory foam matress, and was really comfortable. We slept very well! The bathroom was large, with tiled flooring. The shower was warm and powerful. Lots of lovely smellies.
There was plenty of tea/coffee/buscuits/sweets in the room. Staff were happy to give us more milk.
Breakfast was lovely, and well cooked. I think we could have kept eating all morning if we wanted to! Lovely jam.
Although pricy at £115.00 per night, we really enjoyed staying here. It was great having a room we could go in/out at any time.
We were staying with our dog. We didn't find many places that welcomed dogs, but this certainly did. Ours also enjoyed his stay. He was able to wander around the garden, and was welcome in the bar in the evening. Lots of great walks from the Inn (bring a doggy towel, as they may get muddy!)
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, the food was great (reasonable price), the beer well kept and the fire nice and warm. Best seats are reserved for guests.
We will definately be back! Thank you.

Room Tip: Dogs would be able to use the upstairs or downstairs rooms (I presume this is allowed). Upstairs th...
