I'm a local lad, brought up in Sheringham in the 60s, and this was my first visit to the new museum. Brilliantly presented, especially the old lifeboats and Pratts' leather shop, reconstructed here from where it used to be on Station Rd. I remember the smells, and they're almost here too. Great views, lovely staff and well-written explanatory notes. Enormously worth a visit.

A good place to visit for families on a rainy day, easy to find as it's on the seafront and staff are friendly.

The musuem is suprisingly large - it's like a tardis so don't be put off by the small frontage.
Inside there are 3 retired lifeboats covering over 100 years of service between them, lots of interesting local bits and pieces and on the 1st floor a splendid row of re-created shops. The Sheringham Shoal wind-farm visitors centre is also housed here and there's a viewing tower with excellent all round views. Well worth the money.

I like the history and sense of pride in the place.
The upstairs part is free and about the Sheringham wind farm. Downside is that its all international companies that own it. Well worth paying to see the local stuff. I went with several small children aged from 3 - 8 and they loved it, as did their parents!
