“We cannot fault this hotel - absolutely recommended”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

My husband and I have just returned from a long weekend at the Beechwood. From the moment we arrived the staff were superb - greeting us and taking our cases immediately. The hotel is spotlessly clean - we didn't see a speck of dust anywhere. From the super powerful hot shower, sink in comfortable bedding, friendly atmosphere and superb meals - with a choice wide enough to suit anyone, we came away saying we couldn't fault the hotel. The owners are about all the time making you feel looked after, the staff work very hard and are friendly and approachable - all in all we can't wait to return. Its in a superb position to explore North Norfolk although, living only an hour away, we chose to use the weekend to relax. Wonderful.

Room Tip: We chose the next room up to basic and it was fine - big enough with a powerful walk in shower as we...

Don and Lindsay run the hotel extremely well and their passion for customer service is very evident. It is great to see the investment they make in their young staff.

The hotel makes a good base for exploring the North Norfolk area.

The welcome at the Beechwood is very friendly and professional without being overbearing. The staff are excellent and the owners make it plain that they are there to help and that nothing is too much trouble. The bedroom was lovely. The only minus point is in the restaurant. The menu makes a great show of sourcing local produce and so it seems that the food is going to be superb. It isn't. It is bland. Meat is overcooked. Sauces all taste the same. A great pity, not enough to spoil the stay but the hard work put in by the staff is being ruined by the chef.

They simply can do no wrong! A lot of restaurants could learn how it should be done.care & attention to details. Obviously a busy night, but still made time to make it special for all couples there. Ambiance aplenty with all the little touches that make it very good value for money.

Room Tip: I would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to go somewhere special. We bought our son & girlf...

We have just spent 3 nights at the Beechwood and would rate is as one of the best hotels we have used. Lindsay and Don have a passion for what they do, and this is reflected in the exemplary service throughout the hotel. Our vegetarian requirements were individually addressed by Steven, the chef, and the meals were exceptional. Everything in the hotel is of the highest standard, including the value. 70% of their customers are repeat visitors; it is easy to see why, and we will be among them in the future.

Room Tip: Four poster rooms are great.

My wife and I had a christening in Gt Yarmouth on the Sunday: Decided to drive up on Saturday, but didn't fancy two nights in a Yarmouth hotel: Looked on Tripadvisor and found The Beechwood: Great find!
No sooner driven into the carpark when the young man was out for our cases. Fast check-in service, then a quick tour around the hotel before being shown to our room. Well furnished: lovely, large bathroom: lots of tea and coffee ingredients. Complementary tea and scones, pre-dinner drinks with nibbles, canapes and an excellent dinner all went to make this a visit to remember. The service was excellent without being over-attentive.
Our request for a slightly late check-out was accommodated, even though they were fully booked for Sunday Lunch and obviously busy. Recommending to our friends and we'll be back.

We spent 2 wonderful nights her for a special Valentine's weekend. From the moment we pulled up on the drive to be met by a charming young man who carried our bags indoors and up to our room, to the moment we - somewhat reluctantly- drove away, we were made to feel special. Don and Lindsay introduced themselves and were very involved in the smooth running of the hotel, serving in the dining room and and bar. The waiting staff were always polite and courteous and very efficient. We were offered complimentary coffee and cakes - what a lovely though and shown around the hotel before taking us up to our room. And what a room! so lovely. A 4 poster bed and soft squishy pillows guaranteed a good nights sleep. Steven, the head chef, deserves the accolade he has. His meals are wonderful! - I dread to think how much weight I have gained!. I can't praise this hotel enough. Thank you so much Don and Lindsay and your wonderful team - can't wait to come back.
