“Worth a visit”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

Well worth a visit to have a look at the old photos of Old Hunstanton as it was many years ago..about the floods and how it's changed over the years..

You can also sit and watch a short film which is very interesting. It's on the centre of town so no problem to get to..

“A nostalgic walk around the memories of old Hunstanton”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Had a spare moment at the weekend so looked in - absolutely absorbed! Now in my sixties the old pictures brought back memories of my yesteryaear. Used to arrive by steam train from Ely into middle of Hunstanton. Even people with no previous memory or knowledge would be absorbed by the number of old pictures. Even saw the caravan on the front that we stayed in in 1959 when I was 10 years old. Make sure you give this a visit whether you have Hunstanton history or not you will not be disappointed. Well done to all who have played a part in putting this all together.

This is a very interesting place if you like local history, some artefacts and lots of old photos, will only get better as more locals contribute...

“Fascinating insight to Hunstanton”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

The Heritage Centre provides a fascinating insight into the history of Hunstanton St Edmund from the time Edmund waded ashore to claim the kingdom of East Anglia in 854AD. The seaside town, creation of Henry Styleman le Strange, built to accommodate the desire of the Victorians to frequent the seaside is now a modest, friendly, seaside town with wonderful beaches.

The Heritage Centre is one of the best I have seen in a town of this size. A substantial building with an amazing array of pictures and news items covering the history of the town, including significant coverage of the disastrous storms of 1953, closure of the railway, the loss of the Pier.

Entrance is free but as the whole set up is run on voluntary contributions and the efforts of volunteers a donation is very much appreciated.
