These beautiful gardens and house are definitely a hidden gem. The azaleas and rhododendrons were mainly in full bloom when we visited in mid May and they all looked absolutely wonderful, so many beautiful colours and smells. Neither me or my husband are keen gardeners but we could definitely appreciate the work that had gone into these gardens. The walk through to the water gardens was lovely but could be difficult for anyone with walking difficulties due to the tree roots and uneven surfaces but again the gardens and the lake more than made the walk worth it. We finished off our visit with a visit to the tea tent when drinks and cake were reasonably priced and the volunteers were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again as a very enjoyable way to while away a few hours on a sunny afternoon.
