The collection is good and there is a lot to see and a lot of facts and figurers to read. What's missing, and I am sure would help bring the collection alive, is having someone to ask questions or even tell a story or the history about the exhibits. Not always practical I know but even a video, for example demonstrating how the bridge laying vehicle works would have helped. Having said that, well worth the trip.

I found the collection to be overpriced, It was a hot day and none of the roller shutter doors were open. You are not allowed to climb on, or sit in any of the exhibits.
When I enquired (2:00pm) about the open air display I was told that it wouldn't be happening until more people turned up. I waited another half hour but no-one else appeared so gave it up as a bad job.
I felt this could be so much more than it is.

A very interesting place to visit for people liking military equipment. Lots of exhibits to see inside and a few outside. Good place to visit on a wet day. Tank rides certain days. Dog kennels available for duration of your visit. Restaurant highly recommended.

Went here for the Military Weekend, friendly staff, great re enactments on site, lots of vendors and living history groups with all their equipment and knowledge.

The main museum has enough to look at but the show made it worthwhile.

We visited this collection as hubby is a retired serviceman and is naturally interested in all things military. We both found the collection very interesting , with a wide range of military vehicles/equipment of all sorts including some that hubby used and also some that my late father would have been familiar with. Trucks, tanks, armoured cars, even a motorbike, for a private collection we found it extensive indeed. A good place to visit for anyone with an interest in military vehicles, even better if you can go on a display/rides day. Allow a good 2 - 3 hours to see it properly.
