“Cosy and comfortable in a quiet location”
Reviewed May 17, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We stayed at Apple Trees for a few weeks in February. The house is beautifully presented, and was spotless when we arrived. It has an enclosed garden -ideal for our dog- which looks over a field and Holt country park. It was well-equipped - especially the kitchen, which had more varied equipment than any other holiday rental I've used. The location is quiet - within easy reach of the Country Park for dog walking, and within walking distance to Holt. We even had the opportunity to sit out in the garden occasionally, when the weath allowed, and I can imagine it would be lovely to eat out in the garden, which is not overlooked, apart from the field.

The owners are very friend,y and helpful, answering questions and providing advice for our time there. This included a file of helpful information on the area.

Although it did not have the charm of the old cottages available for rent in the area, it more than makes up for that in the level of comfort. It was ideal for us.

“Perfect place for seeing Norfolk”
Reviewed October 26, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Having just spent a week at this bungalow in Holt we would like to congratulate the owners on presenting a delightful 'home from home' for us. The decor is excellent and there is very little missed in supplying all our needs in a rental home.
We have stayed in many short term rental properties in several places around the world but few have met most of our needs as Apple Trees did. It made our stay very comfortable in a wonderful part of Norfolk.

“Appletrees was a home from home.”
Reviewed August 6, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Appletrees is wonderfully located on the edge of Holt town, with easy access into the town centre and overlooking Holt Country Park.
The bungalow itself was smart and clean and a great place to come back to after a day out exploring north Norfolk.
Would recommend a stay at Appletrees if you are thinking of staying in the area. Ten out of ten.

Over the years we have spent a lot of time in Norfolk. Apple Trees is the best accommodation we have stayed in. Susie and Steve make every effort to make you feel welcome. The bungalow is very comfortable, spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated. The garden is ideal for kids, dogs or just relaxing in with great views of Holt Park. It is ideally situated for visiting the North Norfolk Coast, local National Trust properties and Norwich. The broadband works very well and is very easy to connect to.

This must have been our 3rd or 4th visit to Apple Trees so that says it all really. Deceptively spacious and very well equipped bungalow in a fantastic location. Lovely quiet cul de sac with friendly neighbours (including Rosie the elderly little cat who obviously remembered us as crazy cat people!) and overlooking fields at the back towards Holt Country Park. There is a twitchell (to use a Nottingham word ) at the side of the bungalow next door which is a short cut to the Country Park. The property is about a 15 to 20 minute steady walk to Holt town centre which saves the endless arguments over whose turn it is to drink or drive. Thanks again Steve and Susie.

“The best holiday property we have ever stayed in.”

We have spent a wonderful fortnight at Apple Trees near Holt. The bungalow is beautifully furnished with everything one could wish for in a holiday property. Very quiet area with a lovely Country Park just behind the garden and the pretty village of Holt is only a short walk away. So much to do and see, our two weeks has been full of new experiences with plenty of National Trust Properties and Gardens, beautiful villages and the coast only a short journey away. The owners are both very helpful and friendly ..we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Norfolk.

“Apple Trees - a well provided, clean, comfortable and conveniently situated holiday base for North Norfolk”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We spent a week at Apple trees in May. The property is just as described in previous reviews, being very well provided, immaculately clean and comfortable. The attention to detail in the décor and the facilities really demonstrates how much care Susie and Steve put into the property.

The location is particularly good. The bungalow is set in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, but you wouldn’t know that when sitting in the lounge and looking through the patio doors at Holt Country Park and the lovely trees. Although you can drive around to the car park (chargeable) and visitor centre on the far side of the park, it is easily accessible in a few minutes for free through the footpaths from the cul-de-sac (see the map hung on the kitchen wall). The footpaths also take you into the centre of Holt in about 10 minutes and that’s well worth exploring with some interesting shops and some good food.

If you want to get out and about in the car and explore the North Norfolk coast in particular, then Apple Trees is well situated for Sheringham and Cromer to the east and Wells-Next-The-Sea and Hunstanton to the west. The Thursford Collection (if you like working street and theatre organs and a Wurlitzer) is just 10 minutes’ drive away and is great for a wet afternoon.

The weather was quite cold and cloudy while we were there but it was always nice to come back to this warm and comfortable base. So much so, we have managed to book again for another week in July when hopefully the weather will be better.
