we stayed in the family spa room which was two bedroom with private courtyard and firepit also loungers. we had our own sauna and bath also a bathroom which had drench shower. the bedroom had a samsung smart tv 50 inch. you can also plug your ipod in socket in wall and listen to music throughout the room sauna etc.
staff were excellent and premises spotless. the food was very good and we went to kings head in holt for a steak one night which was cooked over charcoal grill in front of you. honesty bar in corridor with wine etc. hope to return soon

We stayed for 3 nights and wished we had stayed for longer. We were lucky, the weather was touching 85 degree's F. This allowed us to sun bath in our private courtyard, which was not overlooked. Every room appears to have its own courtyard and these are accessed via your private conservatory which houses a bath and sauna. The rooms had lovely high ceilings which kept the room relatively fresh in the hot weather. Due to the extreme night time temperatures we had to keep the conservatory doors open, we had some security concerns over this as the courtyard backed onto the hotel car park (we rigged our own alarm to cope with this).

We both suffer with back pain, but the bed was perfect, offering plenty of support.
Typically tea and coffee is available in the bedroom, but fresh milk is available at a self service bar in the hallway outside the bedrooms. There was also complimentary bottled water and cookies at the same location.

Breakfast, an excellent choices. But the English breakfast was a la gastro pub. A tower of toast, a take on beans, piled alongside a sausage and black pudding, topped with a butter poached double egg, all covered with a slice of bacon. Luckily you can modify the tower to your liking, but do try the beans !

The dinner was also gastro-pub, and sadly some of the things failed. Mushy peas for example with the "line caught" haddock had the flavour of unsalted mash potato that was dyed green.

Overall the food was very good and the chef is willing to modify dishes to suit individual tastes.

As for the staff, they cannot do enough to please their customers. One member of their team even tried to help us with our forward destination.

We would definitely return to this hotel.

We stayed here in one of the spa rooms for just one night, it felt like heaven. As soon as we arrived we were shown to our room by a friendly member of staff. The room was truly unique, great facilities and lovely touches throughout. We had lunch and dinner and we were not disappointed everything was very tasty.
We loved our stay here and hope to be back very soon!

This is under the same ownership as Byfords in Holt.
The welcome by staff was outstanding and throughout the visit absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent with all the possible comforts. Dinner was excellent with an amazing choice from a menu plus dishes of the day. The breakfast menu wasn't quite to my needs and without any quibble chef made me the most excellent omelette just to my liking.
The room TV was of the SMART type and I took my opportunity to try the features because I have been considering one, now I know how they work and I have been able to decide on my purchase.

No mobile phone signal but I was instantly offered use of the house phone.
The address I have is Edgefield, Norfolk, NR24 2RL but looking at the existing reviews this is the same property.

We chose to stay here because of the spa rooms and were not disappointed. It feels rather decadent to have your own sauna! The sideboard in the hallway with fruit, marshmallows and wine (pay for wine by honesty box) together with the fridge with chilled juice and mineral water is a great idea. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they found a fan for the room when I asked for one. If only the weather had been good enough to toast marshmallows on our own firepit!
Eating in the evening is slightly less perfect; if you don't like pork or fish then it's not for you and the menu could do with some more variety, particularly as "specials" do seem to sell out early. However, portion size is more than adequate and the quality is high. Breakfast choices include some quirky variants on the traditional "Full English" and the kedgeree was excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms 4 to 7 look out onto open countryside and get the sun in the morning; rooms 8 and upwards have enclosed patios and back onto gravel that might be used for car parking. However, they would get the evening sun!
