Decent pub with good beer and reasonable homemade pizzas. Didn't try anything else on the menu. Plenty of space inside and out.

Had a delicious lazy Sunday lunch with my wife and parents in the Hunny Bell.

We decided to eat in the bar after moving inside as there were a few wasps outside - unavoidable in the height of summer I guess.

Bar service, as always here, was prompt, friendly and efficient. We had a real mixture of main courses - roast beef, roast chicken, stuffed courgette (vegetarian option) and ham, egg and chips. All came promptly and were enjoyable although I would have to say there could have been a bit more chicken for £11.95 or so.

However what a delight the desserts were. First off it was an agonising making the choice between Eton Mess, Creme Brulee, Bakewell Tart and Chocolate Fondant. Luckily three of us had desserts so there was a chance to try 3/4 with the Eton Mess hitting the skids. I had the creme brulee with raspberry sorbet - the creme brulee had an excellent texture and vanilla flavour and the raspberry sorbet was amazing - very sweet and powerful and complemented the creme brulee perfectly. My wife had the chocolate fondant with a coconut ice cream which was delicious and my mum had the bakewell tart with a blob of delicious ice cream - again beautifully presented and even better tasting.

A bit later the chef came to the bar for a drink and we had a quick chat with him about the desserts and the stuffed courgettes. He was nice and friendly and you could tell he was passionate about his food.

All in all an excellent visit - worth going just to enjoy the desserts but the mains were very nice as well.

We had seen reviews comments on the Hunny Bell plus TA. We went for our 31st anniversary. Starters choice was very good and was of a good quality. We have had sirloin steak and I would say hot but not a melt in the mouth. Plenty of local people but no could not hear any local accents.

Definitely one of the best Ploughman's lunches anywhere ever. Hunks of ham and cheese were presented with several relishes including a show-stopping piccalilli, fabulous rolls and salad. And service was impeccable - down to the bowl of water brought to the garden for our dog - thank-you Keith!

Came across this place by chance and popped in to reserve a table for sunday lunch the following day. The menu was full of tempting treats. Chose chicken and they had run out so opted for Angus roast beef instead. So glad I did opt for that, it was juicy and tender and hardly any fat. The selection of veg was also different but totally delicious. Braised Red cabbage, sauted leeks, peas, mangetout, cauliflower cheese. Perhaps te cauliflower had been hanging around a bit and the cheese had gone rubbery but overall it was delish. Great funky presentation and plenty of room. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
