This restaurant closed for business on Dec 23rd, 2014.

I have no idea why it is still showing on the list of Holt restaurants, having advised this website a dozen times?

Had a wonderful meal here with friends. Sadly we were the only four in the restaurant, which was a real surprise. As the food and service are excellent. Plus the fabulous choice of wines. I really hope you all pay this restaurant a visit. It is well worth it in the beautiful town.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service, despite the negative comments here. The place was empty, which was a real surprise a few weeks before Christmas but all four of us enjoyed ourselves. They obviously need to do something here, perhaps make it a bit more 'wine bar' with food as it would be a shame if it had to close.

I'm surprised this restaurant is still open. We had lunch there recently. There are 50? covers and there were two couples in for midweek lunch (including us) and one couple with a pot of tea, who left soon after we arrived.

Service was good - as you'd expect in a nearly empty restaurant. The food was just this side of dire.

A sandwich (OK) came with chips which were flabby and seemed to have been kept warm for ages, and a "salad" which consisted of a pile of dried-out rocket, some red onion flakes, a bit of tomato and then dribblings of dressing spotted about on the top. This is 'fine dining'?

Since the place was nearly empty, everything echoed on the hard wooden floor. The staff looked bored. No one else came in. Time slowed down. One of the kitchen staff pushed a garbage trolley past the window - a bit of excitement. The phone did not ring. No one else came in. The toilets are cold with bare walls and high ceilings. The staff had nothing to do. It is dying.
