The food was very reasonable and so fresh. Packed to the rafters every time we drove by. we went for Sunday lunch and had Royal Salads of different main components - i.e. crab, prawn and lobster - absolutely beautiful.

My husband and I visited this place during June this year, we booked for lunch as we were advised that it was always busy. On arrival we were met by a very rude male, who I was told to be the owner, he showed us to our table (if that it what you can call it) , I prefer to call it a tatty old garden table which could have been brought straight from the local tip. on the table we and were confronted with dirty plastic salt and pepper pots, on ordering our food (which is done in his shop via a large blackboard) and is hardly legible, we decided on the crab salad with new potatoes and bread which are all classed as extras and charged for, the crab was very small and dry, the salad consisted of cucumber around the edge of the plate and very little else. I asked for mayo (and that was an extra). There are signs all over letting customers know that you are not allowed your own water - talk about being back at school. but worst of all, they do not have any toilets or hand washing - I was told to go to the nearby pub (disgusting) I don't know how they are getting away with this. finally, don't waste your time going, the seafood is nothing to write home about, and the owners are not nice people, if you want a meal in a shack or at the side of the road with the dustbins close, then go, but you will regret it.

We had been looking forward to coming here for weeks ever since watching the Hairy Bikers! But on the Monday it was closed, so could only call in on way home on Tuesday for some takeaway sandwiches. Very dissappointing. Maybe there was a communication problem with the staff and we should have known to ask for salad with the crab, or something!!! The sandwich had very little crab in it and wasn't as good as the one we had at the RNLI Cafe in Cromer!!
On plus side there was a huge choice of fillings and various flavours of mackerel.
I will book for a meal next time, its got to be better than the sandwich!

Lots of crab, with bits of smoked mackerel, prawns, whelks etc, and English salad as in 5 slices each of beetroot, tomato and cucumber - none of those poncy salad 'leaves' which are ubiquitous everywhere else in tourist Norfolk. There are lots of other fishy treats but all four of us had variants of a crab salad with 'crusty' roll and butter - well, it was not as soft as many, I suppose. Choice of drinks - tea, coffee, orange juice etc. It was like going back about 40 years, but the point is, the crab was brilliant, very fresh and tasty; service unbelievably fast by the largely Eastern European staff; and it looked as though the puddings were great too, but we didn't have space for them, despite the temptation of brandy snap baskets filled with cream and strawberries. Very good value too - it cost about £30 for the four of us.
