Came across this Cafe quite unexpected as its well off the beaten track and we were all amazed with what we had found. Its more like a restaurant in terms of the variety and quality of food on offer. Anything from a sandwich to roast Lamb with all the normal fish and chip and breakfasts in between. You could also enjoy a glass/bottle of wine with your meal. Tables can be booked and probably advisable since its a comparatively small and busy place. The cafe is a modern barn refreshment decorated beautifully.
So why not five stars? The portions were too large, which I'm sure would suit some but we felt slightly off-putting and I think it tries to be too much. Is it a cafe or a restaurant?
Anyway, an absolute little gem, well worth a visit and idea place for family Sunday lunch or any other visit.

“Well worth a visit after a walk on the beach”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

We have been to the cafe before and thought we'd give it another visit for lunch after a walk on the beach. The food was lovely, we had the fresh crab salad which was excellent followed by hot chocolates which we very tasty! Glad to see the new chef has settled in well and look forward to our next trip

“Smallsticks not what it was...”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

We used to love this café, but they have a new chef..
My veggie breakfast had a rasher of bacon in the middle, they should have cooked fresh food, but it was just moved to another plate and cold when brought back.
Husbands black pudding wasn't cooked & poached egg was rock hard.
We decided to give it another try yesterday. They no longer have the sunday lunch menu which was great.
I'm not convinced my fish was fresh and not frozen, or the hand cut chips really hand cut.
Husbands new potatoes in crab salad were so old they had started to sprout !
Sons Yorkshire pudding too burnt to eat and roast potatoes pale and barely cooked.
So sad, we used to love this café, but it's just bog standard at best now.

“The best vanilla latte ever!”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Great little café in a beautiful spot - walk along the beach and then in for HUGE portion of fish and chips, crispy tasty bacon baps, scrummy carrot cake and the best hot and creamy vanilla latte I have ever had. Easy parking. Take dogs in to the enclosed gated garden with grass area and picnic benches and water bowl for them. Very clean and super friendly service - always made to feel welcome and valued. Prices are reasonable too. Love it.
