We enjoyed a lovely meal in a very welcoming pub, we had our dog with us and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. My husband had a mixed grill which was a very large plateful nicely presented. The pub was very busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food.

This pub/café is a jewel in Norfolk. We were met by the landlord and his friends as if we were old friends and made to feel very welcome! A large range of excellent beers available and had a wonderful light toasted lunch which was a meal on its own!!
Some wonderful history about the place (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote one of his novels there!) as well as a fantastic atmosphere.
Brilliant place - will definitely visit again!

After spending the afternoon with my camera along Happisburgh beach, I decided to walk around the village. It was getting dark, and colder, when I saw the sign for the Halt. At first I thought it was in the pub, but after going through the archway, saw the entrance. I had already had lunch earlier which was a shame as the Carvery looked really nice. I had a very nice hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream with a slice of luscious Lemon Drizzle cake. Very comfy sofa, and staff were friendly. Their Valentines menu looked like exceptional value for money, I hope they had a busy night. Will definitely visit again....for a Carvery hopefully, yum.

Tired and hungry after a long Sunday afternoon exploring the Norfolk coastline, certain that day-old supermarket sandwiches were as extravagant as our evening's cuisine was likely to be, the Halt Coffee Shop & Carvery was an unexpected delight. Welcoming, comfortable and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, and the food- including excellent vegetarian option- was delicious, especially the parsnips! We simply couldn't resist a second visit to the carvery, and the lemon drizzle cake was ace. We'll definitely be returning, can't praise highly enough.

Found a great new eatery in Happisburgh Norfolk. Very warm friendly greeting and service, lovely food and surprised at the nice price, Real value for money/ Especially liked the generous mug of quality coffee and the great big pot of Tea. The owners Adrian and Julie are great hosts and have not long taken over a massive project to get their business up and running, so there is still work in progress - but ignore that and enjoy the experience. Even gave us a packup for our 3 dogs in the car - lovely gesture.
