On the last day of our holiday I decided to give this place a go, had checked out trip report and was a little put off with several reports saying it was a expensive but as the weather was not fit for the beach I thought it was worth a go... Well what a place, price was not an issue as there was loads to do and see, the kids loved it, the walks were great with plenty to see and a nature trail to follow for the kids, great adventure play ground, gardens and some lovely animals scattered throughout, the weather was not great but dry and on a warm day would be even better, will be back next year, just one other thing the cafe I think shuts at 2:30 ish, I would of eaten but too late!

Thanks so much for your review. We feel our pricing structure remains competitive and with so much to do it is easily a whole day out which represents even better value for money. We have recently invested in WildRootz to encourage and inspire our younger visitors to reconnect with the natural world so it's really lovely to hear the kids enjoyed their visit too! Hot meals are served in the cafe from 12 - 2:30pm but sandwiches and snacks are available all day. I'm ever so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to your day.

Thanks for taking the time to pass on your feedback, it's very much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you next year.

We took our 6 & 3 year old and they had a great time. It would be very expensive if you paid the full entry fee, but we may good use of our Tesco vouchers instead. The kids spent about 3 hours in the play area (Wild Rutz) - the play equipment has been in place for less than a year and is very imaginatively laid out - all well maintained. Lots of places for picnics. There is also a nice little 'treasure hunt' type activity for kids to complete on the walks around the lakes. Very impressive overall.

The setting is very beautiful. The birds are amazing quite friendly and like being fed by the children. The gardens are wonderful, especially a little later than May.
But the playground is something else. Never seen anything like it. The longest slides I have ever seen on a playground.
You can spend a whole day here

Really nice experience for a family outing focused on nature. Enjoyed walking around the ponds and seeing the literally thousands of unique birds. I am a garden designer and didn't find Piet Ouldolfs gardens here all that inspiring. In addition, I don’t recommend eating in the café- really average, if not poor food. Pack a lunch and have a picnic or stop somewhere before heading in. the park is certainly work the visit though if you are interested in looking at birds or want to take your kids to the adventure playground!
