For reasonable value Chinese and some English dishes this is a good local option. Good selection available, polite service and good tasty food.

Thank goodness, having moved and relocated from Nottinghamshire and now living in Diss we have found a Chinese Restaurant surpassing our experience, and is well worth a visit. The take away menu is the same as the Restaurant and we have notice is always busy. We like to be seated, and the service is very attentive and we would like to thank all the staff for making us feel very welcoome. The food is just excellent and always hot and served at a pace that suits us, even having gaps in between if we so wish - there is never a feeling of being rushed. Thank you all and now we have found you, we will be back again and again.

Whilst we understand many of the positive reviews on TA regarding the food - we have to be honest and say that the food being produced by the "Chinese" chef is old fashioned and out of date with reference to what is now being produced by the competitors in China Town in London and Essex restaurants.

The menu also states that the chef cooks special "Malaysian" dishes and we tried these - but they were in no way Malaysian having visited most of the Malay restaurants in London and Singapore.

Customer service was almost non-existent with the Manager leaving it to the non-English speaking waitress to explain that the Chef was from China not Malaysia and the dishes were his interpretation.

In fact most of the dishes were covered in old fashioned "chip shop" Chinese curry sauce and judging by the effect it had on all of us - lots of MSG in the sweet and sour.

The portions were also incredibly small - particularly the rice and noodle dishes - compared to other restaurants.

So, in summary. Whilst we accept that many of Suffolk and Norfolk people will be used to the food they are producing and may like it - what we would suggest is that with an updated and better chef - the food that the majority of Chinese restaurants around the UK are now producing is a lot better than what is being offered here.

We should have guessed when we walked into an empty restaurant on a Friday night..

Sorry - but Norfolk and Suffolk deserve better !

PS: Note for the next menu when next updating. Tiger Beer is now produced in Edinburgh, Scotland and not Singapore !

Visited here for the second time on Sunday night and had another really enjoyable evening. The food here really is excellent and despite concerns that we may have over ordered managed to eat everything! The food is very tasty, well cooked and well presented. The wine is reasonably priced and the service is friendly. Meal for four (starters, mains, bottle of wine and coffee) came to £86 which I think represented good value for money. I would highly recommend.

Recently moved to the area and have ordered takeaway collection twice. We were not impressed with the first meal but thought they may have been having an off day. Today it was worse. Ordered prawn toast and was given spring rolls, rang to find out why and the chef made a mistake. Okay we were charged for prawn toast and after the difference in price offered 70p compensation off our next order! Hardly worth it. The hot and sour soup tasted okay but was really watery and had spam in it, very odd. Lemon chicken sauce was disgusting, tasted like powdered lemon and water not a sauce at all and the menu claims it to be luscious! The pork pad Thai was BBQ pork not Thai and even the plain boiled rice was overcooked. Considering all the excellent reviews I am afraid we are extremely disappointed and won't be ordering again.
