Rendez-voused here with some friends prior to a walk on Sunday - seemed to be the only place open on a cold January weekend, hence why we chose it! Didn't really know what to expect, but we were very impressed with the cake display and fresh out of the oven scones on arrival.
Breakfast was swiftly ordered and swiftly delivered - and what a breakfast! Huge bacon and sausage baps, the most enormous scotch egg I've ever seen (the remainder had to be popped into a handbag for consumption later) a very good sausage roll (still not quite as good as the Dozen bakery, but working towards) and a melt in the mouth fruit scone with jam and butter, so good that we agreed it may possibly even compete with a Jarrold scone!
Having never been there before, we noted with interest that the main meals and specials advertised on the blackboard sounded rather yummy, and we half regretted the fact that we already had a Sunday lunch reservation, but we shall most definitely return to sample the menu further, although I imagine that in season this place probably has a queue out the door judging by the amount of people in there in January.
