We were staying the night at the Travelodge in Acle & this pub/restaurant was recommended by the Receptionist. It was just 5 mins walk down the road which was ok with us because we had two very young children with us.
Outside, I must admit, this Pub looked a little unloved, but we went inside to have look. We found a bustling bar with all tables taken & each one had people eating plates full of food. We took this to be a goods sign. Immediately, the landlady opened the Restaurant for our party of 6.
Our drinks order was taken & supplied quickly whilst we studied the menu. We were all pleasantly surprised by what was on offer. Our 5 year old was supplied with a generous plate of food which was gobbled up quickly. The adults polished off their food, impressed with the freshly cooked meal.
The decor is obviously in need of attention, but noticed some work appears to have been started. We would say, do not let this put you off. We were given a warm welcome & additional requests/ enquiries dealt with willingly, even the young man from the kitchen.
We would say ,give this Pub a chance.More
