I telephoned to book a table and was told that it was fully booked. However they said that if we arrived early they would try to accomodate us.

We turned up at 5.30pm and a table just happened to be free - the menu was extensive and interesting (as in 'more imaginitive than the average pub'). Our food was served within 10 or 15 minutes - a request for a special meal for our over-fussy 7 year old was accepted without any problem. The food was excellent, large portions, well cooked and very tasty.

The pub was completely full by 6pm. Next time we will book a day or two in advance.

Outside was a play area for 5 - 10 year olds, a mini golf, electric go karts and a small arcade. Enough to keep the kids amused for a few minutes while we had a drink.

Pretty much the perfect family pub - we will definitely return next time we are in the area.

We came across this great pub whilst on a 50th birthday weekend. The day we turned up we were all dressed as pirates and the staff took it all in good spirits and made us all feel very welcome - so much so that we came back the next day as well. The food is great - I cannot recommend the fish pie highly enough - best I've ever had!!

We will definitely pay it another visit if we return to the Broads!!
