We arranged our daughters wedding reception at Amber lodge. Amanda and her staff could not have been more helpfull.
The service was second to non. The room was laid out perfectly for 80 guests.
the outside areas were pleasant and well maintained and the bar was well stocked and the bar staff were attentive and friendly.
Drinks and Canapes were served outside on arrival on the front lawn.
The meal consisted of a BBQ and Hog roast with plenty of salads as well as a selection of deserts.
All our guests were completely over whelmed by the venue, the food and the service.
The a hearty buffet breakfast the following morning was served in the bar area for those that stayed overnight.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering a wedding package.

My family and I went here for my 50th for sunday lunch. We thought that the whole experience was like something you would expect to see at Fawlty Towers! The service was terrible as the waitresses couldn't speak English (not their fault) and so couldn't understand our orders, the choice of food left a lot to be desired as we went for a cavery and there was only a choice of two meats and then there was only a choice of three desserts! The lemonade from the bar was flat and when told the waitress couldn't change it and was told to mix it with a can....
And the worst of it, this was not a cheap experience!!!

So we thought we'd try eating here for a change from our normal Sunday Lunch venue. The first time we were the only people dining and were shown into the bar to eat. The food for a Sunday lunch was 'creative' but cooked OK - roast chicken was actually a chicken breast that had been pan-cooked.. We came back two or three times, but things were going steadily downhill. The last time we ate the meat was precooked and sliced and served from a lukewarm tray. The vegetables had been overcooked. The plates were completely unwarmed, and the chef appeared to be somewhat the worse for wear and smelled of drink.

We stayed at the amber lodge for the one night before going on the norfolk broads. Well what can i say........ the best start to a holiday any one could asked for. we arrived on a monday to be meet by the owener Amanda, she's was extremly helpful as we asked to change rooms so we could all be together ,not a problem at all. Amanda is a credit to her hotel, nothing was to much trouble for her, she even brought a tv down to the bar so we culd what the tv. The food was excellent. The resturant was beautiful, and the rooms compelments this also. We cant wait to go back, and would recomend this hotel to everyone.
