I stayed here on a business trip and although the hotel looks good from the outside and clean and tidy inside what lets this place down is the attitude to loan travellers. If you are on a booked tour trip the restaurant is blocked booked for you but try getting a table if you are there on your own. Also the menu choice is very limited with little or no imagination.

After a 7 hour train journey from plymouth I arrived at the hotel to a friendly warm welcome!! After checking in and getting to my room I headed down to the restaurant! All I can say about this experience was wow! Staff were professional and knew what they were talking about! I had the ham hock for starters which was amazing followed by the slowly cooked pork belly with noodles! This was out of this world and compliments to the chef!! Overall a fantastic meal at a fantastic hotel!!

A word of warning to anybody staying for a wedding - don't assume that booking a year in advance on a special rate will guarantee you a good deal. We paid £120 for one night b&b (which included a 10% discount) and found out the friends who had booked after us paid anything between £73 and £120. When we queried this with reception we were told that we were given the best rate on the day we booked, and whilst i appreciate that this is standard practice for hotels and travel, I would have thought a 'special' wedding tariff would have been priced more consistently.
Before I checking out I asked to speak to the duty manager who was very apologetic and shared our bemusement, but ultimately couldn't do anything about it as he didn't cover reservations. There really should be a senior manager available at all times to resolve all guest issues rather than expect the guest to follow it up themselves afterwards. Or perhaps this is done on purpose in the hope that many guests will not take things further once they have driven out of the front gates!

A lovely stay in an excellent hotel. Room was very good, leisure facilities great and the bar and restaurant both great places to eat. All in all we really enjoyed our stay - it was very peaceful and lovely and quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A shame we had to keep reminding about the things that were included in our voucher but lots of them were missed so we had to say. Still had a great time and would highly recommend.

Just returned from 3 days at Redworth. I booked this in May as part of Puma Hotels half price sale. It was excellent value for money and we had dinner in the hotel restaurant each night.
After reading some of the reviews I wondered if the food was going to be okay. It was excellent with no complaints. The restaurant staff were excellent especially Rory who made sure we had everything we needed.
Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. I do agree some of the hotel is looking tired and in need of some new decoration but at the price we had paid there was no cause for complaint.
I would definitely go back to the hotel and next time upgrade to a deluxe room.

Room Tip: it would be worth upgrading to a spa deluxe room

Booked a last minute 1 night break at this hotel. Very impressed with a very large family room, 1 four poster bed for us and 2 fold up beds for the kids in their own separate sleeping area. Very light and airy room and as it was hot we left the windows open and did not experience any noise from outside. Spent most of the time in the leisure facilities. Great pool area, sauna, jacuzzi, steam and even a small soft play area and the locals who were all members didn't seem mind the kids having a bit spThelash. Had our evening meal at a local pub a few miles away on the recommendation of one of the locals we got chatting to in the sauna and what good advice it was, far cheaper than the hotel evening meal prices and a fantastic meal too. Breakfast was good in the hotel, plenty choice, but quite busy and bustling. Only down side was that the kids playground was taped off with "keep out" signs over the entrances, such a shame as the kids were desperate to be in as it looked fab! Great hotel, would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Family rooms are very generous in size.

I recently stayed here for one night on business.I Arrived laye on the night to find the front door locked, which would have been fine if it wasnt for the fact that he was asleep with his feet on the desk. Jimmy i think his name was. (not really the welcome you want from a 4 star hotel) but i was tired so needed to get to my room so just over looked this. He then sent me in the wrong direction and i met the other porter andrew who at first had a go at me for being in the wrong side of the hotel and when i told him why i had ended up there he said 'thats Jimmy' and also said hes useless and lazy they cant get rid of him because hes retiring soon. As if i want to here that. Them two staff are a joke
