“Great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2013

Excellent hotel, staff first class, very helpful, rooms spotless. However attached Fair & Square restaurant is very tired and food served only adequate. Better to drive for food 10 mins to nearby Brewers Fayre where restaurant is excellent.

We found the staff friendly in a hotel with a quiet location. The associated restaurant is a bit dated but again the staff were helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast but didn't fancy anything on the evening menu. We would stay again at this hotel and eat out.

Have stayed in premier inns several times and am always impressed with the hotels and especially the staff. Nothing is ever too much and they are always happy and friendly. Premier inns beat Travelodge hands down every time. Stayed in a Travelodge once in Scotch Corner purely because the Premier Inn was fully booked. Wish I had slept in a skip, the skip would have been cleaner and more comfortable, the guy working on reception barely grunted when we booked in. When I asked for an extra pillow he walked off without saying anything then almost threw the pillow at me after making me wait over 5 minutes.

Another good night in a Premier, staff were helpful and friendly, room spotless and comfortable. Thank you once again Premier you haven't disappointed yet! We went to The Bay Horse pub, in Heighington, just 4 miles from this Premier, for an evening meal, good, home cooked food in a proper pub.

The staff are very friendly both upon arrival and departure. Its location though is somewhat divorced from anywhere unless you have transport and therefore you are likely to use the adjacent public house whilst very busy, needs maintenance, particularly externally. This is likewise adjacent a busy road, so sitting externally is not pleasant.

We are big fans of Premier Inns as they generally provide a warm welcome, clean rooms and a comfy bed. This hotel was no exception. A very warm North East welcome set a standard that didn't fall at all. Room was overlooking the car park but was quiet, windows opened to allow fresh air, a big plus for us, and two plump pillows. None of the one flat as pancake type that some cheaper rivals provide. We ate at the adjacent restaurant which had a wide and varied pub type menu. Service and food was great.

The staff make this premier inn outstanding - I hope a manager reads this and appreciates them! From the moment we arrived they were so attentive and treated us like we had booked into a 5 star hotel. Rooms very clean and spacious and for £50 we had a wonderful family weekend away and will definitely book again without question. The pub next door was superb and we had a lovely breakfast there and evening meal.
