“A beautiful weekend Glamping escape”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

We stayed at mains farm in the pods for two nights (13th June) and found them warm and cosy. There are electricity points and lights inside the pods and you are close to a shower/toilet block, that also have a microwave/toaster/kettle and washing up facilities.
We had a lovely break away and visited pooley bridge which was also beautiful, thanks to Roberts advice. We would definitively visit again as it is very family friendly and they also have a little park which is an added bonus!!

Just stayed for 1 night in the lovely new camping pods at this exceptionally beautiful location.Everything was excellent.Showers toilets cooking and washing facilities are all clean and of a very high standard.Robert and Julie have thought of everything and are on hand to be very helpful but are also very much in the back ground, not intruding on your tranquility. The setting is lovely with no close busy roads and a beautiful river within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed an excellent nights sleep.

Room Tip: The camping pods are wonderful, plenty of plugs and lovely lighting inside and out.Uninterrupted view...

A group of 9 of us stayed at Mains Farm for C2C cycle, in the bunkhouses, and had a fantastic stay. Every need was catered for, accommodation was very comfortable, and spotless, breakfast great, and all travel arrangements were spot on. What made it such a great stay was Julie and Robert's hospitality, warm welcome, and genuine interest in ensuring our stay was perfect. They have a great knowledge of the ride itself and local area. It s a lovely spot with great views, plenty of space, facilities for washing clothes, showering, making a cup of tea. The village was great and both pubs offered fantastic food. It was a memorable stay, and a big thanks to Julie and Robert for helping it to run to smoothly and making us so welcome. We will be back next year!

We have just camped here for two nights May bank holiday mon & tues night, we loved it. We came for the first time last year with our two boys, it's perfect for all, families, couples, groups and cyclists (C2C route). Julie & Robert are without a doubt the best hosts I've ever come across, I feel as if I have known them for years, they are easy to talk to, good banter, always happy to help, welcome you into there home, and totally respectful of your privacy, outstanding service. Mains Farm is beautiful, safe for children, the actual camping field has spectacular views, and the little park is fab for the kids, animals and wildlife is awesome to see on this working farm, and short walk to the river for paddling and fish nets are a joy. Local pubs and Alston is a great hit with our 'Harry Potter fan sons' for the steam train ride, plus couples, it's a lovely experience, we seen a deer, also a lovely lunch is to be had in the village.
I recommend this site to everyone I meet, who love camping & caravanning. I even tell couples too, Yes couples! as there is a section of field which couples can camp in peace no kids. It's ace! Thanks for a lovely camping experience Robert & Julie, we'l be back;) x

Julie & Roberts Hassle Free option was perfect for our 3 day C2C bike ride - we left our car at the farm for the duration - we were dropped off at Whitehaven and collected at Tynemouth - rooms were clean and the showers were hot

Room Tip: book early - its a busy place that will grow from strength to strength

Our Coast to Coast was organised by my friend Steve, and I'm very pleased he chose Robert and Julie's company. The accommodation was converted stables, so fairly basic but just what we needed, with bunks, electric heating and power sockets, all we needed was sleeping bags, towels and wash kit. For those of us in the stables there was one gents with two showers which, although not exactly power showers were more than welcome after a long ride. The kitchen has a fridge stocked with bottles/cans of beer and an honesty box for payment. There is also a microwave and cooker. Breakfast was decent strong coffee, toast with jams followed by a good bacon roll and a chat from Julie offering tips about the best route and pick-up points for the drivers. Our bikes were secured to the vehicle racks with care and our drivers were all very friendly and gave us a guided tour along the way. Our accommodation along the way (The Old Vicarage, Rookhope) was organised by Julie and proved a great choice. On the nights we stayed at Main Farm we were driven to the pub in the evening and Julie was always willing to book tables. In conclusion I would certainly recommend Hassle Free as we both thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, friendliness and effort made by Julie, Robert and the drivers and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again. Just returned from a three night stay. Rob and Julie do an amazing job, nothing is too much trouble, they are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the local area. This is one the best sites we have stayed on, the facilities are great, everyone catered, the kitchen is good if wet and cold for making a brew or a full meal, the bathrooms are clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. There's a small play area for the kids and lots to explore round and about without having to take the car. The outdoor pool at Lazenby is lovely, a little chilly on entry but soon warms up! We visited the Fetherstone Arms where the staff where very welcoming and the food delicious. Fully recommend this site we will definately be. Thank you Rob and Julie (we loved the "party space" you let us use in your barn!!) cheers til next time The Barnes, Biancardi, Doggat group
