I guess, knowing the standard fare offered by the other take aways, I was expecting something exceptional. A little extra tang or bite, unusual items or dishes that came alive in my mouth. Alas it was not to be. The dishes are somewhat better than the others in town but you have to be selective in what you choose. For example the crispy beef is excellent, but the chicken balls are greasy and come with half a pot of sauce. Rice lacks flavour as do the noodles but they are not greasy or covered in soy sauce. The steamed dumplings are ok but not really pot sticker as they seem to disintegrate and have no caramelisation. Despite the blandness the food the take away is very clean and the staff are very, very pleasant and helpful.
As for the comment that the food is as good as a Hong Kong restaurants I had to chuckle, most people eat from the street vendors and their stuff knocks anything we get in this country into a cocked hat.
The concept of the owners is great but I feel they should tweak the recipes to give some dishes a little more contrast and depth of flavour. I'd rather it said wow! in my mouth rather than mmmmhh??
Give it a whirl, at least you won't be getting a dish of additives and MSG.
