A lovely rural location, let down by truly shocking food. The staff are willing enough but frankly I'd reduce the menu size by half and dump the chef. Tepid steak, awful sauces, ribs so small they must have come from a suckling pig. Not sure how this type of place survives.

Two bad meals in two different local restaurants in just one week, I'll save my cash and cook at home from now on

We were were a family of five. Two were game pies with very little meat, not of the variety on the menu, mainly gravy, topped by cardboard posing as puff pastry. One was ribs and whole breast of Cajun chicken. Must have been an animal with small ribs and a starved chicken. Home made chicken curry, think the sauce was out of a jar. Frozen chips, scant vegetables.

At £11.25 , £13.95 and £10.25 well overpriced.

Service was abysmal. Slow, just a job expression. Served across the front of a person instead of behind.

The floor was dirty and littered. The table was unclean.

Atmosphere non existent. Never again.

As a regular to the White Horse in the summer months due to their large garden and extensive play area it was one of the better family pubs in the area. How wrong was I! The first sunny weekend of the year I took my 2 girls , 5 and 9 for lunch. They were bitterly disappointed that the main wooden piece of play equipment had been burned and destroyed by mindless vandals. More worrying was the fact that no attempt had been made to clear up the debris, charred wood and nails, nor had the area been fenced off to prevent children playing in that area of the garden. When challenged, the duty manager informed me that the damage had been done 2 WEEKS ago and that the area wasn't in use!
Won't be vditing again in a hurry!
