We went on the trip to Esmarkbreen and Barentsburg in August 2013 on a day with very nice weather. On the way we saw a couple of whales in the distance. At the glacier there was some seals.
The Glacier is absolutely stunning and Barentsburg is a fascination place.
The trip is - even for Svalbard standard - extremely pricey. It is 1450 NOK pr. person and you share the trip with almost 100 other people. But even though they thus get about 145000 NOK (25.000 USD) a day the food served is mediocre at best. There is good salads and bread available on Svalbard, but they don't buy this for the trip. You have to do with cabbage and cheap toastbread.
If you go to Svalbard and want to visit Glaciers, Barentsburg or Pyramiden I would clearly recommend not going for the big boat trips with this company or "polargirl" but going for the smaller "Isfjordsafari" instead. Here you will go in small RIBs to the same places at the same price.
