The weather definitely helps. As you bounce along the very rough road that leads to the cottage you are surrounded by stunning views in all directions -either up and down the bay or up into the hills. The cottage is compact with a stylish interior, if not at times the most practical. Colour schemes match the surrounding gorse and heather and original paintings by the artist owner cover the walls. It is very quiet !! Get the supplies in and take several good books, and binoculars. Great for trips to the Ring of Kerry, but be aware that coaches and their occupants swamp the villages and viewpoints at certain times of the day. Watch out for "tourist rates" in some local shops at these times. Go off the beaten track for great walks on beaches, and in the hills. Best advice is to read the blue book when you arrive.
