“Beautiful architecture, Warm Hospitality”
Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

The charming and intimate Akti Aigaiou is the ultimate in the relaxed and elegant simplicity of island living. Combining breathtaking views with the luxury of absolute tranquility, beautiful architecture, warm hospitality, cleanliness in rooms, excellent cuisine and an inspiring land and seascape. Thanks for the hospitality the ladies Aggeliki and Thekla

Fantastic apartment with nice decoration, big terrace with sea view, big and always clean swimming pool, amazing sandy beach, good food, extra-helpful staff. I would recommend for families, or couples looking for chill and relax, as there is no nightlife, no shopping streets, no pubs or supermarkets in walking distance.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment in the main building, with balcony viewing to the sea. Wou will not regret.

Amazing location, in a small hamlet a 10mn drive from the main town, right on a beautiful sandy beach with gentle slope and clear waters; views of Mykonos and Delos across the sea. The small pool (salty water) is nice especially for children, but you will probably love to hang out on the beach which has umbrellas and chairs. You can buy drinks and snacks and the small snack bar by the pool.

The rooms are large and comfortable, with kitchenette and fridge. Our room on the first floor of the main building had a perfect view of the main pool area and the sea.

There is a good taverna in the hotel, and if you walk 5 mn on the beach you will find a couple more. There are also a couple very small grocery shops within walking distance, but for real supplies you will need to drive to the town.

Tinos is a low-profile island with lovely villages and beautiful beaches, it is well worth renting a car to drive around and visit the beautiful village of Kardiani perched on a cliff with a view of Syros, or the beautiful little port of Panormos with its hidden beaches -- close to Pyrgos, a very typical Cycladic village where marble craftsmanship is still very active. I recommend renting from Vidalis rent-a-car who is everywhere in the city center.

Room Tip: The main building rooms have a beautiful sea view on the first floor

It's a bit like owing a small house in Cyclades, without the chores! The beach is absolutely amazing , a long expanse of sand, only partially covered with umbrellas, and clear shallow turquoise waters with sand only at the bottom...bliss for kids and adults too.. All this only 15 mins away from the port ... The stuff is really friendly and the facilities very tasteful and true to Aegean colours, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Great for short breaks and long vacations as well!

Great hotel ideal for families. Only setback : August strong wind (meltemi) was messing us up. Beach overlooks south so no waves on the wonderful beach with crystal clear waters and golden sand. Spacious parking - good food - relaxing music. Pool is small and unsatisfying

The other reviewers have covered most of any comments we would make, but I would like to confirm the friendly nature of the staff, the lovely facilities and value for money. The hotel is 6 km from the port, we were picked up made feel very welcome and even offered a lift back to town should we wish to hire a car. We used the restaurant a couple of times and the food was fine and again good value. As the the rooms are self catering we cooked a few meals as after 6 weeks in in Turkey and Greece a home cooked meal was appealing. It is a shame the Island is off the beaten tourist track as we feel luck we found it. Tinos is a nice island and well worth visiting. If you do so you will really enjoy staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a studio overlooking the pool, the sea and to Mykonos.

no real issues with hotel, and a good value for the money (note, there is an extra 6 Euro pp charge for breakfast). Room was clean and reasonable, and big size. it's more for families than couples or honeymooners. it's right on a beach, which is nice, although beach was just so-so, and slightly dirty with trash when you first enter it from hotel. hotel has pool, which is good for families/children, but wasn't really designed for adults to hang out & relax and have drinks. location wise - it's a bit far from town, which is a negative, so a car rental really helps, although they do provide free port transfers which is very helpful. staff could have been more friendly and helpful, they weren’t nasty, but not overly hospitable. almost all guests were Greek, and we are not, so maybe this explains their attitude. Would stay somewhere else next time, closer to town, and geared more towards adults, and with more diversity of guests.
